James Island Charter High School is a leader in many ways; ranking in the top 5% of high schools in South Carolina. Its graduation rate is more than 11 percentage points higher than the state average, and eight out of 10 graduating seniors pursue college degrees, compared to an average of 69% statewide.
James Island had a similar mindset for creating a safe and supportive environment for students, staff, and visitors. The school sought to reduce entry bottlenecks, improve screening efficiency, and strengthen campus safety.
