Houston Astros Renewed Partnership Expands with Evolv Express® Gen2 and Evolv eXpedite™ for Great Fan Experience

For the Houston Astros, the fan experience is not just a priority, it is central to every operational decision. With more than 3 million visitors to Daikin Park (formerly Minute Maid Park) each year, the organization is continuously looking for ways to move fans through entry points quickly while preserving a welcoming, fan-first experience.
In 2022, Marcel Braithwaite, SVP of Business Operations, set out to rethink how security screening could better support that goal. After evaluating their options, the Astros selected Evolv and reduced their footprint from 65 traditional metal detectors to just 11 Evolv Express® units, significantly streamlining entry while improving the fan experience.
By 2025, building on that success, the Astros expanded their use of Evolv technology with the introduction of Evolv eXpedite™ for bag screening at more complex entry points, including their media entrance. Shortly after, the team upgraded to Evolv Express® Gen2 systems, a decision driven by their positive experience and confidence in the original deployment.
Today, the Astros continue to evolve their approach, demonstrating how modern security can both enhance safety and elevate the overall fan experience.
