Florence 1 Schools Aims to Efficiently Screen Students with Evolv Express Security Screening
Helping to keep students, faculty, and staff secure is a key consideration for Florence 1. “Safety is our number one priority from the start each day until we get our students home safely at night,” says Kyle Jones, Deputy Superintendent at Florence 1 Schools. “We want our faculty and students to focus on quality teaching and learning.”
But previous security procedures came with many encumbrances. Long lines formed outside of school entrances. “We were screening students one by one, which created congestion, especially in our car and bus line area,” recalls Jones. “With manual screening, students lined up as if they were preparing for assembly,” adds Thomas Burton, Campus Monitor and Security at Wilson High School. “We could only screen one student at a time.” Then Evolv was brought in. Through the implementation of the Express, Florence 1 Schools were able to achieve the following:
- Helped to remove over 100 walk-through screening stations and replaced them with 23 Evolv Express system
- Cut the number of teachers and staff needed to manage security screening by over 85%
- Helped to streamline secondary security checks with contextual threat detections
